Radical Visions of Safety from Our Home to the Streets Open Call for Art
February 28 @ 11:59 pm
Do you find yourself best expressing your biggest hopes and desires through your art? Do you want to demonstrate a world that protects BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and people of color) girls* using your artistic talents? We invite you to participate in the Radical Visions of Safety from Our Home to the Streets Open Call for Art, where you have the opportunity to submit your radical vision of safety and win up to $1,000 for your submission!
Betti Ono and Alliance for Girls are having a call for art where we are looking for BIPOC girls ages 13-24 to help us reimagine a world that is radically safe for BIPOC girls and women! We want girls, like you, to tap into their artistic talents to demonstrate their radically safe world. We will be awarding over $5,000 dollars in mutual aid! Ten artists will receive an award of $500 in unrestricted mutual aid. There will also be a people’s choice award where that artist will receive $1,000!
You can use any creative medium to produce work that captures one of our key messages in a clear, impactful, and shareable way. We are looking for art that promotes an aspirational and expansive vision of radical safety through physical, emotional, or spiritual levels. Please read through the open call website for more information on the submission guidelines and recommendations.
You can submit your artwork to the Radical Visions of Safety Open Call form. Artwork must be submitted by 11:59pm PT on February 28, 2021. If you have any additional questions, please email email@example.com.
We look forward to viewing your radical vision of safety!
*”Girls” refers to gender-expansive youth (cis girls, trans girls, non-binary youth, gender non-conforming youth, gender queer youth and any girl-identified youth).
