Santa Clara Town Hall: A Girls Policy Agenda
August 29, 2019 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm
Join us for Alliance for Girls’ first town hall series to create a groundbreaking Girls Policy Agenda for the Bay Area, and statewide. At the town hall series we will unveil Alliance for Girls’ most recent report, “Together, We Rise,” researched and produced by girls of color on the lived experiences of girls of color across the San Francisco Bay Area, completed in partnership with the Women’s Foundation of California. Together we will discuss report findings and participate in interactive sessions to design a collective Girls Policy Agenda.
Together we have the capacity to influence systems that dramatically impact girls lives. Many of us are already advocating for girls, some of us have yet to define our advocacy approaches – all of us can benefit from building a collective voice for change.
This is your space to amplify your existing work with girls through a Girls Policy Agenda that will transform youth-serving systems, enable resource redistribution, and promote equity. Join us!
Collectively, we have the power to change systems and policies that impact girls lives.
Food and beverages are provided. We’re excited to offer $5.00 Jamba Juice gift cards to any girl identified or gender-expansive youth ages 13-24 who registers and attends!
This event will:
- Be among the first to hear about findings from our most recent report, Together, We Rise, put together by girls of color in the Bay Area
- Share your work and uplift solutions that empower girls
- Connect with like-minded organizations and people
- Co-develop a ground breaking girls policy agenda
- Enjoy food with friends and colleagues 🙂
Alliance for Girls is the largest regional alliance of girl-serving organizations and leaders in the country. Our membership includes 100+ organizations that employ 2,400 people with more than 5,100 volunteers serving more than 300,000 girls across six Bay Area counties.
About our Cohost:
The Office of Women’s Policy works to bring a gender lens to policy decision-making, to build a pipeline to leadership, and to demand equity in governance to build a better world for girls.
