The mission of the San Francisco Girls Chorus is to create outstanding performances featuring the unique and compelling sound of young women’s voices through an exemplary music education program.

Founded in 1978, the San Francisco Girls Chorus and Chorus School have become a regional center for choral music education and performance for girls and young women ages four to eighteen. More than 300 singers from 160 schools in 44 Bay Area cities participate in this internationally recognized program, deemed “a model in the country for training girls’ voices” by the California Arts Council.

Each year, the dedicated young artists of The San Francisco Girls Chorus present a full concert season, tour nationally or internationally, and appear annually with renowned artistic partners, such as San Francisco Opera and San Francisco Symphony.
